Compliance and sustainability risks are inevitable—constant firefighting doesn’t have to be. In this interactive, case-based workshop, participants will work through a realistic compliance and sustainability crisis affecting a global subsidiary. Attendees will join Ethisphere experts Craig Moss, EVP of Measurement, and Eric Jorgenson and Emily Miner, Directors in Data & Services, to break into role-based teams to assess the situation and put out the fire to minimize damage to business continuity and reputation. Then the groups will apply residual risk calculations to prioritize next steps over the following 6–12 months to prevent future crises. The session will also explore how Generative AI can leverage residual risk data to help scale compliance and sustainability risk management across complex organizations.
Legal and compliance crises — including regulatory inquiries, dawn raids, public whistleblowers and trade/sanctions exposure — rarely announce themselves. The speed, clarity, and coordination of your response will define not only how effectively you navigate the immediate challenge, but the nature and extent of liability or other damage long after the event has passed.
In this session, we’ll share practical, experience driven guidance to help you prepare for the unexpected and respond effectively to crises.  Together we’ll consider the following questions, among others:  What are the crises with the most significant legal/ethical implications threatening companies today?  What are the most important practical steps companies should be taking today to prevent and prepare for the unanticipated?  What are common pitfalls to avoid in the critical early hours of a crisis—when thoughtful action can dramatically reduce legal and reputational risk?
Join us to explore how preparation today can safeguard your company tomorrow.
This session, led by Lilian Lustre, will highlight how Sanofi is using data and AI to modernize compliance oversight, with a special focus on our SAP Concur AI–driven expense monitoring solution. Through the Assurance Function Analytics (AFA) data lake, we integrate enterprise systems to detect risks at scale and enable real time insights. A flagship example is the automation of travel and expense approvals, where AI now reviews 70% of transactions, reducing payment time from 7 to 2 days and cutting auditor workload by nearly 70%, while significantly improving fraud detection and identifying recurring behavioral patterns. These advances illustrate how data science and responsible AI are reshaping assurance functions—making monitoring more efficient, targeted, and proactive, and reinforcing our global commitment to integrity.
There are some situations that are easy to train managers to address—what to do when being offered a gift from a supplier, the process for escalating reports of misconduct from a team member, or how to have a conversation on workplace safety. Other areas, not so much. Managers play a huge role in modeling behavior and influencing the culture of their teams, so it is important for them to understand how to address situations where the answer may not be clear. In this session, learn how organizations are equipping their managers to make ethical decisions in ambiguous situations, from trainings to tools and everything in between.
Anna Grover, Global Compliance Counsel for two-time World’s Most Ethical Companies honoree Assurant, explains how she approaches the complex issue of mergers and acquisitions due diligence through the lens of ethics and compliance, including the role of E&C in M&A, when it’s actually a good thing to not find a problem, the importance of proactive M&A due diligence, and building strong relationships with the deal team.

What do a 22-year-old warehouse worker in Manila, a 55-year-old manager in Munich, and your stateside legal team have in common? They all need to trust your speak-up program, but they have vastly different expectations and communication preferences. This highly interactive workshop equips you with the knowledge, strategies, and tools to bridge generational, cultural, and organizational divides. Through real-life case studies and peer problem-solving, you’ll build practical skills you can apply immediately. You’ll leave with a comprehensive workbook filled with frameworks, guides, and a 90-day plan, plus actionable next steps you can implement tomorrow, all tailored to help your organization navigate these differences without diluting your program’s integrity.
Hear from Ethisphere’s leaders as they open the Summit.
When meeting with the Board of Directors, you often have little time to share the progress of your program or the power of its impact. Program initiatives can be complex and long term, with opportunities to inform the Board often short in duration and infrequent. This is where the power of data comes in.
In this session, learn how companies are using data to drive their story and create engaging board presentations and materials, including how to take data and create a narrative around it, highlighting your program’s impact through data, and how to effectively share KPIs and
initiative outcomes.
Kick off the Global Ethics Summit by spending time with your industry peers discussing best practices, challenges, and successes that specifically pertain to compliance in the software and technology industry.
Scaling Integrity: Extending Your Program Reach Through a Global Compliance Champions Network
Building a compliance ambassadors or “champions” program is one of the most effective ways to scale a lean legal or compliance team, especially in the fast-paced tech world. This session, led by Workday’s Rick May, explores how to “code” ethics into the organizational DNA by deputizing high-influence employees. We will discuss the strategic benefits of a Champions Program—from localized advocacy and real-time policy feedback to bridge-building across global offices—and provide a roadmap for training and empowering non-compliance professionals to act as your team’s strongest force multipliers.
